對許多廣州人來說，T1不僅是一座航站樓，也是見證人生主要時刻的節點。汽車冷氣芯第一次飛行、第一次遠行求學，許多“人生第一次”都有它的陪同。5月6日晚臨近深夜時，仍有不少人專程前來攝影紀念，紀念T1航站樓運行的最后一夜。但是在不舍之外，更多的是等待。有網友台北汽車材料寫道：“等待新T1以更智能的設施和更華麗的裝潢與T2和T3配合發揮感化。”
航站樓轉場后，出行將發生較年夜變化：T1配套的P1、P2、P3、P4停車場將暫停對外開放，5月7-14日，白云機場將開通全天運營的取車接駁專線，T3專線每30分鐘一班，T2專線按需發車，便利在T2、T3抵達的搭客前去T1各停車場取車。地鐵“機場南”和城際列車“白云機場南站”，5月7日起將載客不斷站通過。搭乘搭座地鐵前去T3的搭客可先抵達高增站，B出口出站換乘“空港2線支線”公交線路，全部旅程15分鐘票價2元。從T3返程的搭客，可前去T3路況中間一層游玩巴士集散中間74號卡位搭乘公交前往市區。
